April 12, 2019

On Friday, April 12th students and staff gathered together to enjoy a presentation by the police officers and their trained service dogs. Emmett O’Brien, under the lead of Ms. Giancaspro, actively participated in a fundraiser to collect funds to help the Connecticut Police Working Dog Association in purchasing equipment needed for these special dogs, that are cross-trained to perform tasks under a well-guided supervision. These dogs are trained to work with community members with any kind of disability and working as companion dogs as well. It was a huge success and the collected funds were distributed among the CT Police Working Dogs Association, the Ansonia Police Officer Smith, and his K9-dog.

In addition, some of our students and staff were recognized for their service to the community through different organizations as the Fire Department, Police Department and First Responders.

YOU ARE OUR HEROS!!

After the presentation, a Luncheon in Café 141 was offered to the 40 First responders that attended this event.

Our gratitude and appreciation goes to teachers and students for their time & hard work put in this assembly.  Our special thank you goes to Senator George Logan, Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti, State Representative Kara Rochelle and our Assistant Superintendent Rich Cavallaro for honoring us attending this event.
