EOB Hoops for Heart Basketball Tournament and Alumni Game

The hoops in our gym saw plenty of action on Friday!

In the morning, we had 22 teams of 3 compete in the Hoops for Hearts tournament. The team of Garrett Johnson, Jayden Richardson and William Alamo won the boys’ division and the 3-D printed trophies that were created by Mr. Moran and the IT shop. Ry’Asia Phillips, Samiya Villanueva and Crystal Gomes-Martins won the girls’ division. The National Honor Society raised over $500 for the American Heart Association!!

On Friday night, 27 alumni returned to the school to play in our first alumni basketball game since 2018. Team Behun (players who graduated between 2018 and 2024) defeated Team Nemergut (players who graduated between 1992 and 2017) by a score of 91-90 (with a little creative scorekeeping by class of 1985 alum John Tomasella)! The bleachers were packed with family and friends of the alums, as well as current students. It was definitely a memorable event!
